Hungarian quark cherry cake

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g wheat flour type 405
  • 250 g sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 220 ml milk
  • 220 ml oil
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 1 jar sweet cherries
  • 300 g low-fat curd cheese
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 tsp powdered sugar + some for sprinkling

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

For the batter, beat the eggs with the sugar until frothy, then add the milk and oil in portions, then finally mix in the flour and baking powder. Spread the batter on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and top with the drained and pitted cherries. Mix the quark with the egg, sweeten with a little powdered sugar if desired, and scatter the mixture between the cherries. Bake in a preheated oven on the middle rack at 190°C (top/bottom heat) for about 25 minutes (test with a skewer if done). Tip: You can, of course, use other fruit.
