Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 small head of white cabbage
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 250 ml sunflower oil
  • 2 red chili peppers
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 4 cm ginger, fresh
  • 1 tsp black pepper, ground
  • 1 tsp fish sauce
  • 2 lemons, juice

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 35 minutes

Coleslaw à la Baba

Finely shred the cabbage and mix with the salt. Let stand for 15 minutes, then knead thoroughly. Finely chop the chilies, garlic, and ginger, then add to the cold oil. Heat the oil until bubbling, let it cool slightly, then pour it over the cabbage. Immediately stir everything thoroughly. Season with pepper, fish sauce, and lemon juice. Let stand for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight. Perfect for BBQs.
