Bratwurst with a twist – simple and delicious
Heat the oil in a pan and fry the sausages for 10 minutes, turning frequently. Trim the leeks and slice them into approximately 1 cm thick slices. Then cook them in salted water for five minutes. Meanwhile, roughly chop the peeled tomatoes and season them, including their juice, with salt, pepper, and Tabasco. Arrange them in a baking dish. Drain the leeks, let them drain, and mix them with the tomatoes. Place the sausages on top and sprinkle with the Gouda cheese. Bake in a preheated oven at 225 degrees Celsius for approximately 15 minutes, until the cheese has melted. The baking time varies depending on the oven. I bake with top/bottom heat. Mashed potatoes or farmhouse bread go very well with this.
