Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 kg minced meat, mixed
- 1 ½ kg onion(s)
- 1 ½ kg tomatoes, large
- 1 roll
- 250 g cheese, grated
- salt and pepper
- nutmeg
- Garlic
- oregano
- Fat for the mold
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
Make a hearty batter from the minced meat, a large onion, 1 egg, a soaked bread roll, salt, pepper, garlic, nutmeg, and oregano and spread it in a large baking dish. Peel the remaining onions, slice them into thin rings, or grate them, and spread them over the minced meat. Wash the tomatoes, slice them, arrange them fan-shaped on top of the onions, and scatter the cheese over them. Grease aluminum foil and cover the baking dish tightly. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for a good hour. Remove the foil for the last 10 minutes to allow the surface to brown slightly. Serve with a fresh salad and herb bread.
