Spätzle with minced meat and sauerkraut casserole

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 1 can sauerkraut
  • 600 g minced meat, mixed
  • 1 pack of spaetzle
  • salt water
  • some butter
  • 1 cup crème fraîche with herbs
  • ½ liter of water
  • 1 cube of gravy
  • 1 tsp broth, granulated
  • salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder
  • Spice mix (minced meat spice)
  • 1 pack of grated cheese

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes

Place the sauerkraut in a sieve and drain well. Fry the minced meat in a pan until crumbly and season with salt, pepper, paprika powder, and minced meat seasoning. Prepare the spaetzle in salted water according to the package instructions. Place the fried minced meat in a casserole dish, brown the sauerkraut in the pan, and pour it over the meat. Drain the spaetzle, then briefly toss them in butter, then pour the butter over the sauerkraut. For the sauce, add 1/2 liter of water to the pan and the crème fraîche, season with the meat juices and granulated stock, and pour over the sauerkraut in the dish. Sprinkle with grated cheese and bake at 200°C (top/bottom heat) for about 30 minutes.
