Sweet and sour sauce

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp ginger root, grated
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce, dark
  • 2 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 250 ml orange juice
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • some water
  • e.g. pepper(s), diced

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Heat oil in a saucepan and sauté ginger and garlic. Add orange juice, soy sauce, ketchup, tomato paste, vinegar, and honey and stir to combine. Mix the cornstarch with a little water and add it. Bring everything back to a boil, stirring constantly. Note: Add the bell pepper pieces.
