Garlic pasta sauce

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 2 portions of pasta of your choice
  • salt water
  • ½ onion(s), finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 3 tbsp Parmesan, grated
  • 100 ml water (pasta cooking water)
  • 150 ml milk or broth
  • 2 tbsp cream cheese spread
  • 1 tbsp, spread butter or margarine
  • Salt
  • possibly cornstarch
  • possibly water for mixing

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Cook the desired amount of pasta in salted water according to the package instructions. Meanwhile, heat the butter or margarine in a saucepan and sauté the onion and crushed garlic until translucent. Deglaze with 100 ml of the pasta cooking water. Pour in the milk (you can also use stock if you like), add the Parmesan and the processed cheese, and let it melt. Season with salt to taste. If desired, thicken the sauce with a little cornstarch dissolved in water or more Parmesan.
