Apple and onion spread with almonds

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 70 g almonds, ground
  • 150 g apples, slightly sour variety, peeled and pitted
  • 150 g onion(s), finely diced
  • 150 g butter (vegans use margarine)
  • ½ tsp mustard, medium hot
  • ½ tsp sweet paprika powder
  • ½ tsp smoked salt
  • ½ tsp thyme, dried, soaked in 2 – 3 drops of water
  • e.g. chili powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

vegetarian, vegan, simple

Cut the apples into small cubes. Heat 80g of butter. Sauté the onion and apple in it. Stir in the ground almonds, add the remaining butter and dissolve. Add the spices and simmer gently with the lid on for about 5-8 minutes. Stir frequently to prevent sticking. Let cool, transfer to a container, and refrigerate. This will keep for about 1 week.
