Orange marmalade with whiskey and winter spices

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 kg orange(s)
  • 500 g gelling sugar (2:1)
  • 12 cl whiskey
  • 1 piece(s) ginger, small
  • 2 cloves
  • 2 stalk(s) cinnamon
  • 4 grains allspice
  • some cardamom

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 2 hours 30 minutes

Peel and segment the oranges, reserving the juice. Add the gelling sugar. Tie the spices together in a linen cloth and add them to the orange segments. Let stand for 2 hours. Now cook as directed on the sugar packet. Boil for 4 minutes, then add the whiskey. Do not allow to boil, otherwise the alcohol will evaporate. Remove the spice packet. Immediately pour into hot, rinsed 230 ml twist-off jars.
