Potato Cake with Bacon Crust
The perfect potato cake with bacon crust recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
Potato mass:
- 750 g Waxy potatoes
- 1 Onions
- 2 tbsp Flour
- 1 tsp Seasoned salt from my KB
- 1 tsp Telly cherry pepper
- 1 tsp Freshly grated nutmeg
Minced mass:
- 400 g Ground beef
- 1 Onion
- 1 Clove of garlic
- 2 tbsp Tomato paste
- 2 tbsp Mustard
- 1 tbsp Paprika powder
- 1 tsp Seasoned salt from my KB
- 1 tsp Garlic pepper from my KB
- 1 tbsp Dried marjoram
- 1 tbsp Telly cherry pepper
- 1 tbsp Freshly grated nutmeg
- 1 tbsp Fenugreek powder
In addition:
- 300 g Mixed with bacon, sliced
- 200 g Grated Emmental
- 200 g Rapeseed oil
Potato mass:
- Peel and roughly grate the potatoes. Put in a colander and drain for 10 minutes. Then express it well. Peel and finely dice 1 onion. Add the flour, seasoned salt, pepper, nutmeg and onions to the grated potatoes and mix well.
Mince: Preheat the oven to 200 degrees!
- I always let my minced meat through myself because we prefer it a little coarser and it is very fresh! Then knead the minced meat with onions, tomato paste, mustard, seasoned salt, garlic pepper, paprika, marjoram, pepper and nutmeg well.
Tinker together:
- Now line a round springform pan with baking paper and grease the edge! (with me 20cm), of course, a bigger one is also possible then the cake is lower! Now put half of the bacon in the pan so that the bacon overlaps the edge! See image! Then spread half of the grated potatoes on top and press down well! Then spread the minced meat and half of the cheese over the grated potatoes. press firmly again.
- Now put the rest of the grated potatoes and the rest of the cheese (of which keep 1 tbsp for the top!) On top, press down again and fold up the bacon slices that hang over the edge and place the rest of the bacon on the cake, press it down and spread some cheese on it!
- Now bake the cake in the oven for about 60 minutes. Cover the cake with aluminum foil after approx. 40 minutes! After baking, let the cake rest for about 15-20 minutes! Then serve. There was also a salad!
