Potato Omelette with Bacon (pill Cake)
The perfect potato omelette with bacon (pill cake) recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 2 Eggs
- 100 ml Milk
- 50 g Flour
- 1 Knife point Baking powder
- 1 Shallot
- 500 g Jacket potatoes
- Salt and pepper
- 100 g Bacon slices
- 1 tsp Butter
- 0,25 bunch Parsley
- Mix the eggs with milk, flour and baking powder. Let rest. Coarsely chop the parsley and stir in, season with salt. Peel off the shallot, cut in half and cut into strips.
- Fry the bacon slices in a pan over medium heat until crispy on both sides. Drain on kitchen paper. Fry the shallot strips in the frying fat while stirring for about 2-3 minutes.
- Peel the potatoes, cut into coarse sticks or slices. Add the potato slices to the shallots, fry them over a medium heat for about 8 minutes, turning them occasionally (add a little butter if necessary) and season with salt and pepper.
- Pour the egg mixture over the potato mix and let it set for 2 minutes. Remove from the pan and place in a casserole dish. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees (convection: 180 degrees). Put the potato omelette in the oven for about 15 minutes .bake ready.
- Place the potato omelette on a wooden board, cut into pieces of cake, sprinkle with bacon and serve with a little parsley.
