Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 500g French fries
  • 2 bell peppers
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 4 Vienna sausages (string sausages)
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 60 ml milk
  • 100 ml water
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp vegetable broth
  • 125g mozzarella
  • 3 tomatoes
  • salt and pepper
  • oregano
  • basil

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

with vegetables and mozzarella (with sausage or vegetarian)

Cook the fries in the oven according to the package instructions. In the meantime, dice the bell peppers, onion, and garlic cloves. Slice the sausages, tomatoes, and mozzarella. Heat the oil in a pan and fry the bell peppers, onion, sausages, and garlic cloves for 2-5 minutes. Add the vegetable stock to the water and mix well. Then add the milk and ketchup, mix well again, and add to the pan. Bring to a boil briefly and season with salt, pepper, oregano, and basil. Pour the mixture from the pan into a baking dish. Spread the cooked fries on top and top with the tomato and mozzarella slices. Bake in the oven at 180°C (fan oven) for about 15 minutes, until the cheese is well melted. Tip: You can also make the casserole vegetarian, without the sausages.
