Recipe from childhood
First, chop the herring, shallots, beetroot, gherkins, and apple. Add the sour cream to the bowl, season with salt and pepper, and optionally add a little pickle juice. Now add all the ingredients and mix. The herring stew can be eaten immediately or left to marinate for a day. It’s delicious with bread or potatoes. Tip: My mom uses milk with the herring and eats it with boiled potatoes. There’s a video for this recipe on my YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/k95v8WbEiEQ
