Chicken breast cubes in orange-soy sauce

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 chicken breast fillet(s) without skin and bones
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • Oil for frying
  • 1 orange(s), organic
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 4 tbsp chicken broth or vegetable broth
  • 1 tbsp orange marmalade, bitter
  • some ginger root, peeled, grated
  • 1 garlic clove(s), finely crushed
  • chili flakes
  • ½ tbsp sesame seeds, roasted
  • ½ spring onion(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 7 minutes; Total time approx. 27 minutes

Briefly rinse the chicken breast fillet, pat dry, and cut into approximately 3 cm cubes. Season with salt and pepper and toss in the cornstarch. Rinse the orange in hot water, dry, peel one half into strips, and squeeze out the juice. Set aside some of the zest for garnish, then mix the rest with four tablespoons of juice, soy sauce, broth, jam, ginger, garlic, and chili flakes. Heat the oil in a pan, sear the meat on all sides, add the sauce mixture, and bring to a boil briefly. Season to taste and serve sprinkled with sesame seeds, spring onion rings, and orange zest.
