Hungarian Cubes with Spiced Almond Batter

Shortcrust

  • 200 g Butter
  • 300 g Flour smooth
  • 100 g Icing sugar
  • 1 Egg yolk
  • 1 pinch Salt

Spiced almond batter

  • 150 g Almonds whole
  • 150 g Grated almonds
  • 220 g Icing sugar
  • 60 g Flour smooth
  • 4 Egg yolk
  • 50 ml Rum
  • 1 kl. tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 pinch Nutmeg
  • 3 Pc. Cloves
  • 1 teaspoon Icing sugar

  • 150 g Currant jelly

First prepare the shortcrust pastry

  1. Quickly knead the butter, cut into small pieces, together with sugar, salt, flour and yolk to a fine shortcrust pastry – wrap the dough in cling film and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes (preferably longer)
