Kohlrabi Boats

The perfect kohlrabi boats recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 2 piece Kohlrabi fresh
  • 1 piece Carrot
  • 0,5 piece Red pepper
  • 1 piece Fresh onion
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Ground ginger
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 14 piece Small tomatoes
  • 4 Discs Raw ham / salmon ham
  • 1 tsp Oil
  • 170 ml Water
  • 4 tbsp Chive rolls
  • 1 disc Gouda (square)
  1. Peel the kohlrabi, cut in half horizontally and cook it until it is slightly firm to the bite (so that you can hollow it out and it doesn’t crumble). Pre heat the oven to 180 degrees celcius. Halve the onion. Cut one half into slices and the other into small cubes. Put aside. Cut the bell pepper into small cubes. Mix with the diced onion, oil and garlic powder. Put aside. Peel the carrot and grate finely. Put aside. Hollow out cooked kohlrabi as much as possible and place the boats in a baking dish. Put the hollowed out with the tomatoes and the water in a tall container and puree. Season well with salt, pepper and ginger powder. Cut the slices of ham lengthways and wrap 2 strips around 1 kohlrabi boat. Spread the tomato, onion and garlic mixture in these boats. Stir the grated carrot into the tomato sauce and pour into the baking dish. Place the onion slices around the kohlrabi boats. Cut the cheese into 8 slices and place 2 slices on each of the boats. Put in the oven for 30 minutes. Place 2 kohlrabi boats with sauce on each plate and sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of fresh chives. Finished
