Sweet and Sour Pineapple Chicken

The perfect sweet and sour pineapple chicken recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 600 g Chicken breast fillets
  • 1 Protein
  • 1 tsp Soy sauce dark
  • 4 tbsp Food starch
  • 1 Red peppers
  • 2 Shallots
  • 1 Can Pineapple
  • 1 tsp Fresh ginger
  • 200 ml Orange juice
  • 2 tbsp Red wine vinegar
  • 200 ml Tomato ketchup
  • 2 tbsp Honey liquid
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • 200 g Basmati rice
  1. Cut the meat into pieces. Mix the egg white with salt, soy sauce, cornstarch and a little water. Turn the chicken pieces in it. Heat the oil in a large pan and fry the chicken pieces until crispy and keep warm.
  2. Wash and clean the bell peppers and cut into strips. Peel and finely chop the shallots and ginger. Fry the bell peppers and shallots in a hot pan. Add the ginger and sweat briefly. Add the orange juice, vinegar, ketchup and honey and bring to the boil.
  3. Drain the pineapple, cut into pieces and add the meat to the sauce. Simmer over a low heat for about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Cook the basmati rice in plenty of salted water according to the instructions on the packet. Arrange with the chicken and the sauce on plates.
