Lemon Hearts
The perfect lemon hearts recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
For the dough:
- 150 g Butter
- 100 g Powdered sugar
- 1 Protein
- 250 g Flour
- 1 pinch Baking powder
- 1 packet Ground lemon peel
- 1 Egg yolk
For the filling:
- 150 g Lemon jam
For the dough:
- Put the butter, powdered sugar and egg white in a bowl and stir.
- Mix the flour and baking powder, sieve, add and knead.
- Add the grated lemon zest and stir.
- Roll out the dough about 3 mm thick on the work surface and cut out hearts. Place these on a baking sheet.
- Mix the egg yolks and use a brush to spread them on half of the hearts.
- Bake at 180 degrees for about 10 minutes.
For the filling:
- Bring the lemon jam to the boil while stirring. Brush the other half of the hearts with it.
- Place the hearts with the egg yolks on the hearts coated with jam and press lightly.
