Grandma’s Traditional mixed Vegetables
The perfect grandma’s traditional mixed vegetables recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 300 g Carrots
- 30 g Branded butter
- 1 small Diced onion
- 2 Pinches Salt
- 2 Pinches Sugar
- 2 tablespoon Water
- 200 g Frozen peas
- 2 tablespoon Cream
- 1 bunch Chopped parsley
- Peel, wash and cut the carrots into small pieces. Melt the butter in a saucepan and allow the onion cubes to become translucent. Add the carrots and sauté them for a moment.
- Sprinkle salt and sugar over it, add 2 tablespoons of water (no more!), Put a lid on the pan and steam the carrots over a mild heat for about 6 minutes. Then add the frozen peas and cover with the lid and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Finally fold in the chopped parsley with the cream, season to taste and serve.
- Grandma’s recipes still fascinate me today because they can conjure up such tasty dishes with such modest ingredients – and without the modern “frills” with exotic additions.
