Dumplings: Cabbage Dumplings

The perfect dumplings: cabbage dumplings recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 250 g Floury potatoes
  • 250 g White cabbage
  • 1 piece Fresh onion
  • 0,5 tablespoon Lard / fat
  • 0,5 teaspoon Ground caraway
  • Salt and pepper
  • 100 g Potato flour
  • 100 ml Water
  1. Boil the potatoes, peel them and drive them through the press.
  2. Peel and dice the onion and cut the cabbage into small pieces.
  3. Heat the pork lard in a pan and roast the onion cubes and the cabbage, stirring constantly, until it is nice and soft. Season to taste with caraway powder, salt and pepper.
  4. Emulsify the potato flour in water and stir the potatoes, white cabbage and potato flour together to form a dough. Shape six dumplings.
  5. Bring enough water to the boil, salt it and pickle the dumplings. Simmer for five minutes and then simmer for about 15 minutes until the dumplings float on top.
  6. Take out, drain and serve, for example with the unique Pörkölt from barbara62 (Pörkölt)
