Cucumber Filled with Gyros

The perfect cucumber filled with gyros recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

Gyros

  • 300 g Turkey breast
  • 3 tablespoon Gyros spice
  • 4 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 4 tablespoon Chili
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 small Red pointed peppers
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 150 g Sheep cheese

  • 1 size Cucumber
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Gyros

  1. Wash the turkey breast, pat dry, cut into strips and place in a tin
  2. Mix the meat with the gyros spice, salt, pepper, chilli and oil and leave to marinate in the fridge overnight.
  3. Now fry the meat without adding any fat, remove it and let it cool down a little.
  4. Put the cleaned pointed peppers, peeled onions and garlic in the meat stock, roast briefly and add to the meat,
  5. Finally, crumble the cheese and add it to the gyros mixture.

cucumber

  1. Wash the cucumber, cut in half and remove the seeds with a spoon, season with salt and pepper.

To fill

  1. Now dab the cucumber inside with a little kitchen towel and distribute the filling in it.
  2. Now go into the 180c. warm oven for 25-30 minutes – take out and let rest a little

Serving

  1. Halve the cucumber and serve with the side dish to your liking – we had mashed potatoes and I served some tzatziki – bon appetit; 🙂
