Poppy Seed Marble Cake
The perfect poppy seed marble cake recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 250 g Soft butter
- 250 g Sugar
- 5 Eggs
- 150 g Sour cream
- 350 g Flour
- 1 Pkg. Baking powder
- 100 g Ground poppy seeds
- 50 ml Milk
- 1 Vanilla pod
- 100 g Dark chocolate couverture
- 100 g Couverture white
- 1 pinch Salt
- Mix the butter and sugar until frothy. Stir in eggs, a pinch of salt and sour cream. Combine flour and baking powder and stir in. Remove half of the dough. Remove the pulp from the vanilla pod and mix it into one half of the dough. Add the poppy seeds and milk to the other batter.
- Grease a loaf pan (29 cm). First put the poppy pastry, then the pale in the mold. Stir with a fork to create a marble pattern. Bake at 180 degrees for 50 – 60 minutes. After 10 minutes, cut into the length 1 cm deep. Let cool down after baking.
- Melt the couvertures separately. First spread the dark couverture on the cake. Put the white on it. Draw streaks with a wooden stick until the surface looks marbled.
