Corn Bred

The perfect corn bred recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 300 g Cornmeal
  • 240 g Flour
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Baking powder
  • 70 g Sugar
  • 480 ml Milk
  • 125 g Butter
  • 2 Eggs
  1. Melt the butter and stir together with the egg and milk. Mix the two types of flour, sugar, salt and baking powder in a separate bowl.
  1. Add the flour mixture to the butter-milk mixture and stir everything into a homogeneous dough fairly quickly (not too long; there may still be lumps).
  1. Preheat the oven to 200 ° C (top and bottom heat) and grease a tall baking sheet (dimensions: 40×30) with butter. Put the dough in the baking sheet and bake the bread for 20-25 minutes (chopsticks test!).
  1. Let the bread cool and cut into squares. Enjoy your meal!
