Cabbage Rolls Were Yesterday …

The perfect cabbage rolls were yesterday … recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1 Fresh white cabbage
  • 2 tbsp Clarified butter
  • 500 g Minced meat
  • 2 Onions
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tbsp Mustard
  • Salt and pepper
  • Ground caraway
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Water
  1. Remove the stalk from the cabbage and cut into strips.
  2. Heat the butterfat in a large saucepan and fry the cabbage in it.
  3. Mix the minced meat with diced onions, eggs, breadcrumbs, mustard and spices and shape into small meatballs.
  4. Deglaze the braised cabbage with water and place the meatballs on top of the cabbage.
  5. Put your lid on the pot and let it cook on a low temperature for 30 to 45 minutes. Stir every now and then.
  6. Season the sauce with salt, pepper and caraway seeds and thicken if necessary. Boiled potatoes taste good with it. Use the time saved because the cabbage did not have to be pre-scalded and the roulades did not have to be laboriously wrapped for a digestive walk.
