Froth the milk with the whisk

There is a debate about which milk is the most suitable for frothing. In general, however, you can use both fresh milk and long-life milk. Just try what works best for you. For the first method, you need a saucepan, a whisk, and a little muscle power.

  1. Pour milk into a saucepan and warm on the stove over low heat.
  2. Immediately start stirring the milk vigorously with the whisk. Make sure the milk doesn’t get too hot.
  3. A suitable, albeit strenuous, technique is this: take the whisk between both hands and quickly rub it back and forth between them.
  4. The first foam forms after a short time. If you keep stirring while the milk cools again, it will get a firmer consistency.

Froth the milk with the hand blender

  1. This method works similar to the first one, only here you use an immersion blender.
  2. Pour the milk into the saucepan and heat. Dip the tip of the blender into the milk and blend. A low setting is enough for this.
  3. Not all hand blenders are equally suitable for preparing milk froth. Therefore, find out beforehand what you can best use your blender for.

Froth milk in the microwave

The microwave is also the quickest method here.

  1. Take a jar that can be closed and is suitable for the microwave. Pour in as much milk as you need and close the lid.
  2. Shake the jar vigorously for about a minute. The milk should be a little foamy afterward.
  3. Remove the lid and place the jar in the microwave. Heat the milk for about half a minute. The milk should then be hot, but not boiling.
  4. The milk became foamy again. With a spoon, you can now add them to the prepared coffee.
