Dishwasher buzzes – that may be the cause
During the program sequence, your dishwasher performs many different tasks. Pay attention to the point in time at which the noises begin:
- The machine often hums right at the start. If this is the case, there is a lack of water.
- Check your sink tap to see if the water has been turned off.
- If water runs, check the check valve. It hums when it doesn’t open. However, you should leave the repair to a professional.
- Then look at the Aquastop and check whether there is a kink in the inlet hose.
- Also, the pump and drain can hum when clogged.
- Take the filters out of the dishwasher.
- On most models, you can get into the impeller housing or inlet through the opening and see if there is a foreign object there.
- If the machine doesn’t heat up, it also hums. If you find that the water is not getting warm, get help from a professional.
- Sometimes incorrectly loaded crockery disrupts the program flow. Open the machine and check that the spray arms move freely.
- For all defects that have to do with the electronics, you should leave the repair to an expert.
