Baking in the oven: explained step-by-step
If you want to put the oven into operation and start baking, it is advisable to take a look at the operating instructions for your model beforehand. For the seasoning, you should have a bucket with water and some washing-up liquid, and a microfiber cloth ready.
- Remove the grates and trays from the oven and clean them separately. Do not push them back in until you have finished baking in the oven.
- Wipe the oven thoroughly with the cloth and the prepared cleaning water.
- Tip: Be sure to wring out the cloth well. This way, not too much moisture gets into the oven.
- Set the oven to 250 degrees and keep the oven door closed for a maximum of one hour. You should select the “top and bottom heat” setting and avoid the circulating air function.
- After 60 minutes, turn off the oven and open the door to air it out. Make sure there is enough draft in your home. If you want, you can speed up the ventilation by turning on the air circulation for a few minutes.
- When the oven has completely cooled down, wipe it again with a cloth and soapy water. Again, make sure that not too much moisture remains in the oven. Finished!
