Whether for eating, speaking, or laughing: your lips are under constant strain every day. So spoil your stressed skin every day! We reveal all the steps and products for the perfect, supple kissable mouth.
Why do you actually need lip balm?
The skin around your mouth has its own requirements and therefore needs its own beauty routine. Because: The lips are part of the outer mucous membranes and are therefore very sensitive. The extremely thin tissue has no sebaceous glands and the associated lipid film and also has hardly any fat deposits.
The fabric is therefore only poorly protected against harmful environmental influences such as UV light and reacts sensitively to drastic temperature differences. It does not tolerate the constant change from cold air to dry heating air in winter.
The result: lips dry out quickly, and become brittle and cracked. The cracks also become infected quickly. The result is painful inflammation. But don’t worry: With the right care program, you can optimally nourish and care for sensitive tissue.
The complete beauty program for your mouth
Daily moisturizing is a must for this dehydrated skin. But: In order for nourishing ingredients to work, you must first remove excess skin cells from your mouth.
Use a lip scrub twice a week for this. You can easily make this yourself using honey and sugar. Gently massage the mix into your lips. Leave on for a short time. Finished! Alternatively, gently rub your mouth with a soft toothbrush.
The heart of your lip care is the following moisturizer. Lip care sticks and lip balms with shea butter, beeswax, vitamin E, honey, panthenol, and oils such as avocado, olive, or sesame oil are suitable for this. Also good: coconut and apricot kernel oil. In the case of particularly chapped, dry lips and cracked corners of the mouth, use products with dexpanthenol. The active ingredient helps your skin to heal itself.
Also important: ideally use a moisturizer with an SPF of at least 20. This protects the skin from harmful UV light.
For extra care, pamper your lips once a week with a special lip mask or lip butter. These products are particularly nourishing and are therefore particularly recommended in the harsh winter.
