Homemade washing powder: recipes

This simple mix dissolves even stubborn stains and requires just three ingredients. And this is how it works: Grate or cut 200 grams of curd soap into small pieces, which you then mix with 300 grams of baking soda and 260 grams of washing soda. It is best to use a kitchen grater to grate.

Fill the mixture into a closable container and voila: your homemade washing powder for bright and colorful clothes is ready. Super effective and without any irritating chemicals. To clean, add one to three tablespoons to the wash.

Liquid detergent: tips

Help from the forest: chestnuts contain so-called saponins, which behave like soap when they come into contact with water. So use the fruits to get rid of dirt on your favorite dress.

For a wash load, simply add a handful of chestnuts to a blender. Then pour 200 milliliters of hot water over the flour and leave to stand overnight. The result is a milky white liquid. Gentle stain removal is not possible. This remedy is therefore ideal if you wash baby clothes, for example. By the way: The milk can be stored in the fridge for about a week.

Outside of the chestnut season, use the proven mix of curd soap and washing soda. To do this, grate 30 grams of curd soap and put it in a saucepan with 40 grams of soda. Then boil two liters of water, pour over the ingredients and stir vigorously with a whisk. Leave the mix for a few hours. For a load of dirty clothes you need about 200 milliliters.

Do you like scented detergent? Simply add a few drops of your favorite fragrance oil to each homemade product. The essential oil turns the wash cycle into an experience for the senses.

Good to know: Homemade detergents are not suitable for silk or wool. It is better to use special products for these fabrics.

How to make fabric softener yourself

Homemade fabric softener? Nothing easier than that. To make the fibers of your textiles supple, simply grab a good squirt of vinegar when washing. 30 to 60 milliliters are enough. The agent dissolves limescale deposits from the washing machine and detergent residue from colored clothing. Normal household vinegar is also suitable for descaling the coffee machine.

For light-colored laundry, on the other hand, dissolve five teaspoons of citric acid in one liter of water. 100 milliliters per wash are sufficient here.
