Our recipe makes about 40 gingerbread men, depending on the size of the cookie cutter.

  • First, you need 500 g flour, 125 g each butter and sugar, 1 egg, 2 tablespoons water, and 1 teaspoon baking soda.
  • Use gingerbread spice to give the gingerbread man its typical taste. You can either buy it or make it yourself from 2 tbsp ginger, 1/2 tsp ground cloves, 1/4 tsp nutmeg, and a pinch of salt and cinnamon.
  • 200 ml of sugar beet syrup is also needed for the unique taste.
  • If you want, you can also decorate the gingerbread man. You can use powdered sugar, sugar writing, or even chocolate for this.
  • Use a cookie cutter for the gingerbread men.

Recipe for gingerbread men

  • First, beat the butter and sugar until fluffy. You can use either a hand mixer, a food processor, or a whisk for this.
  • Then add both the egg and the syrup.
  • Now pour in the water and keep stirring.
  • Mix together the flour, baking soda, and spices separately and add the mixture. Stir them in briefly.
  • If the dough is too hard, you should add a little more water.
  • Then divide the dough into 2 parts and refrigerate for about 1-2 hours.
  • Preheat the oven to 175°C and roll out the dough to about 5mm thickness. Then all you have to do is cut out the gingerbread men and put them in the oven for 10 minutes.
  • Let the gingerbread men cool down and you can decorate them however you like.
