If you want to process pears, then you can make jelly out of them. For this you need the following ingredients:

  • 500 grams of pears
  • 250 g preserving sugar
  • 100ml of water
  • A teaspoon of lemon juice
  • A teaspoon of any spice, such as cloves or cinnamon

How to cook pear jelly

Before you start making the jelly, the pears need to be washed well and the stems removed. You should also cut out brown spots on the fruit.

  • Once you have prepared the pears, all you have to do is chop them into small cubes.
  • Leave the peel on the pears. Because it contains a lot of pectins. This gives the dessert a jelly-like consistency.
  • Put the pear cubes, the water, and the cloves in a suitable container and puree everything with a hand blender or in a blender.
  • As soon as a homogeneous mass has formed, put it in a saucepan together with the preserving sugar and the lemon juice.
  • Boil the mixture while stirring constantly.
  • When the mass has become jelly-like, remove it from the stove.
  • Finally, pour the hot mass into previously sterilized jars.
  • It is best to turn the closed jars upside down for two minutes so that the jar is sealed airtight.
  • You can make a pear sauce in a similar way.
