The industry also adds all sorts of sugars such as sucrose, dextrose, lactose, maltose, fructose, and glucose to numerous other savory preserves and ready-to-eat products – look out for the suffix “-ose” on the list of ingredients when shopping. The most important tip if you want to do without sugar is therefore: Cook and bake as much as possible yourself. So that sugar-free sweets still taste good, you can use alternative sweeteners. Dates and applesauce give our chocolate cake without sugar the desired aroma. Other dried fruits such as raisins, prunes, mangoes, and apricots are also suitable as sweeteners for sugar-free recipes. However, if you want to live sugar-free in order to lose weight, you should know that there are also many calories in dried fruit. The same applies to honey, agave syrup, rice syrup, etc., which are used as natural alternatives to industrial sugar. You can’t avoid a sparing dosage, no matter what kind of sweet addition.

Healthy voyage of discovery – cooking and baking without sugar

Regardless of the calories, it is always worth trying to live as far as possible without processed sugar. You simply become more sensitive to your sugar consumption and prepare your meals freshly more often. Many other alternatives to conventional ingredients can be discovered that can improve the overall nutrient balance.
