Ingredients for 2 servings:
- 1 pack of hand cheese with 4 rolls, ripe
- 1 apple, sweet or sour – to taste
- 1 onion(s), red
- ½ bunch chives
- 3 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 5 tbsp oil, neutral
- 50 g walnuts or pumpkin seeds
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp pepper, freshly ground
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest period approx. 1 day; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 1 day 15 minutes
Dice the red onion and fry briefly in a pan with a little oil until translucent, then set aside and let cool. Dice the hand cheese (with or without caraway seeds is up to you) and the apple and place in a bowl. Finely chop the chives and add them to the bowl along with the cooled onions. Mix everything together with salt, pepper, vinegar, and oil. Refrigerate overnight to allow everything to marinate—an hour will do, too. Just before serving, add walnuts or pumpkin seeds, stir again, and you’re done. A glass of apple cider, sour or neat, goes perfectly with this.
