Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

simple, hearty

Peel and dice the onion. Roughly dice the white cabbage. Heat a little vegetable oil in a pot and sauté the onions. Add the white cabbage. If it doesn’t all fit in the pot, add the second half later. Next, add the sugar and spices and deglaze with the spirit vinegar. Add a little water and let the cabbage simmer with the lid on over medium heat for about 15 minutes. Meanwhile, slice the Leberkäse (meatloaf), add a little oil to a pan, and fry the Leberkäse (meatloaf) on both sides for about 3 minutes. Check the Bavarian cabbage to see if it’s cooked. If not, add a little more water and let the cabbage simmer for another 5 minutes. Season to taste and serve with Leberkäse (meatloaf) and sweet mustard. Fried bread dumplings go perfectly with this dish. You can find the video for this recipe at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8deyzxnhvk&t=32s
