Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g minced beef
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • ½ pack of parsley, frozen
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 4 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • 4 tbsp milk
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • ½ tsp sambal oelek
  • Salt
  • 1 pinch of cumin
  • 1 pinch of coriander
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp oil for frying
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • chili powder
  • 6 tbsp red wine
  • 1 can of tomatoes, peeled
  • Sugar
  • Salt

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

Meatballs in tomato sauce

Peel the onions and garlic and finely dice. Combine the minced meat, onion, garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, milk, parsley, tomato paste, salt, sambal oelek, cumin, coriander, and nutmeg and form into 24 meatballs. Heat oil in a pan and fry the meatballs for 6-10 minutes, then remove from the pan. For the sauce, sauté the onion in oil until translucent. Stir in the tomato paste. Add the tomatoes and red wine. Bring everything to a boil briefly, season with salt, sugar, and chili powder. Add the meatballs and simmer for 5-10 minutes.
