Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 cube of meat broth
  • 0.33 cl beer
  • 1 tbsp potato flour
  • 2 slices of cooked ham
  • 100 ml milk
  • Sausage, Linguiça as required
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tbsp margarine
  • 3 slices of toast
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • some piri-piri
  • 2 slices of cheese
  • 2 sausages
  • 1 beef steak(s), cut lengthwise and briefly seared
  • 1 jar port wine

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Combine meat stock cubes, beer, flour, milk, bay leaves, margarine, and port wine with tomato paste. Blend the piri-piri with a hand blender. Bring to a boil and thicken. Stir to prevent burning. Top with the steak, another slice of toast, then top with the ham and sausage. Finally, add another slice of toast and top with the cheese. Bake in the oven until the cheese begins to melt. Strain the sauce and pour it over the francesinha. It is typically served with batatas fritas and olives.
