sweet and tender

Cut the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces. Combine the sugar, mirin, sake, and soy sauce in a small bowl and mix well until the sugar is dissolved. Marinate the chicken breast in it for at least 20 minutes. In the meantime, chop the spring onions into small pieces. Heat a pan with a little oil and add the meat. Cook the meat over medium heat. When everything is cooked through and the chicken has even taken on some color, add the marinade and heat through. Then turn off the heat and quickly stir in the spring onions so they warm up a bit but don’t overcook. Rice goes well with it. The sauce tastes very sweet and is sure to satisfy any sweet tooth.
