Fried sage

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 50 g flour
  • 100 ml beer, cold
  • n. B. Salt
  • 20 sage leaves
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Place the flour in a bowl. Gradually add the beer, stirring constantly with a whisk, until a smooth, lump-free batter forms. Season with salt. Heat a small saucepan with approximately 300 ml of oil. Dip the sage leaves into the batter, draining any excess, and fry until golden brown. Don’t fry too many leaves at once, or they’ll stick together. Drain on a plate lined with kitchen paper. Fried sage leaves make a perfect aperitif.
