Gyro casserole

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g pork, shredded seasoned (gyros)
  • 1 bottle of Cremefine or cream
  • 100 ml milk
  • 1 tube(s) Tomato paste
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 can beans (white giant beans, Greek style)
  • 2 tsp brandy or Metaxa
  • 50 g cheese, grated
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

In a tall bowl, combine the Cremefine with tomato paste, milk, and brandy. Press in the garlic. Season with salt and pepper. Sear the gyro in a pan. Slice the onion into slightly larger rings and add it to the gyro. Add the green beans and sauce to the pan. Stir in the prepared sauce. Bring everything to a boil and simmer briefly. Transfer to a baking dish and sprinkle with cheese. Bake for 30 minutes at 180°C. Serve with flatbread and tzatziki, fries, rice, or pasta.
