Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg squid tube(s)
  • some lemon juice
  • some salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 300 ml milk
  • 2 tbsp dill
  • some flour
  • Oil or fat, for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

like in a Greek restaurant

Wash the squid tubes and pat dry. Cut the calamari into thick rings. Drizzle with lemon juice, lightly salt, and season with dill. Heat oil or fat (in a deep fryer or saucepan). Combine the eggs and milk. Place the egg-milk mixture and flour in separate bowls. Dip the calamari briefly in the egg-milk mixture and then coat with flour. Fry in the hot oil and drain on kitchen paper. We like to serve this with paprika rice, tzatziki, and coleslaw. Fresh lemon is a must.
