Ham – Tomato – Scones

Ingredients for 12 servings:

  • 225 g flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds, ground
  • 1 tsp sweet paprika powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 25 g butter
  • 1 tbsp fresh basil, chopped
  • 50 g tomatoes, dried in oil
  • 50 g ham, cooked
  • 125 ml milk

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Sift flour, baking powder, mustard powder, paprika, and salt into a bowl. Blend in butter. Dice the tomatoes and ham. Mix into the dough along with the basil. Pour in enough milk to form a smooth dough. Briefly knead the dough and roll it out on a floured surface. Cut into squares about 5 cm long and place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Brush the scones thinly with milk and sprinkle with paprika. Bake in a preheated oven at approx. 200°C (180°C fan oven) for approx. 12 to 15 minutes.
