Greek beef goulash in tomato sauce with pasta

First, sear the meat in a little oil and remove from the pan. Sauté the onions and garlic in the pan juices. Add the canned tomatoes and the meat. If necessary, cover the sauce with a little water. Season to taste and simmer over low heat for at least 1.5 hours, until the beef goulash is tender. Stir occasionally and add a little more water if necessary to prevent the food from burning. Remove the bay leaves and cloves before serving. Cook the pasta and serve with the goulash tomato sauce.
