Spaghetti all'amatriciana

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 250 g spaghetti (or tagliatelle, penne etc.)
  • 200 g onion(s)
  • 100 g bacon or streaky bacon, diced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 tomatoes
  • Olive oil, to taste
  • Chili pepper(s), to taste
  • pepper, black
  • Salt
  • Parsley, chopped

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Fry the bacon in a large pan and brown it, add the peeled and diced onions, crush the peeled tomatoes (canned if desired) and add them to the pan. Finely chop and deseed the chili pepper, if desired, and add it to the pan. Simmer over medium heat for about 30 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Cook the spaghetti in plenty of salted water (20g salt per liter of water) until al dente, drain, add to the pan, and toss to combine. Sprinkle with parsley and serve.
