Banana goulash

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 750 g beef
  • 4 tsp oil
  • 3 onions
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • Salt
  • 1 tsp curry powder
  • 375 ml water
  • 3 bananas (very firm)
  • 3 tomatoes
  • possibly Sambal Oelek , for those who like it a little spicier

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Beef stew with curry and banana

Cut the beef into small cubes and fry well in oil. Peel and dice the onions, then add them to the meat along with the tomato paste. Season with salt and curry powder and add the water. Simmer over low heat for 60 minutes. Peel the bananas and cut into thick slices. Blanch the tomatoes, peel them, and quarter them. Add both to the goulash and simmer until a creamy sauce forms. Season the goulash again. Tip: Herbed rice goes best with the banana goulash.
