Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 700 g large shrimp (raw, peeled, tail on)
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • some oil for frying
  • 4 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 2 cm ginger root, chopped
  • 2 chili peppers, green, seeds removed, chopped
  • 4 spring onions, chopped
  • ½ tsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp rice wine
  • 1 tbsp ketchup

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Chinese cuisine

Wash the shrimp thoroughly and drain, then toss with a pinch of salt. Combine the sauce ingredients. Heat the oil in a wok and add the shrimp. Briefly fry over high heat until red. Add the ginger, chili, and garlic and cook briefly, then add the sauce and toss to combine. Garnish with the spring onions and serve with rice.
