Asian carrot and apple salad

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g carrot(s)
  • 2 apples
  • 5 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp sesame oil, toasted
  • 3 tbsp sesame seeds, roasted
  • 2 tsp chili flakes
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup or agave syrup
  • 1 lemon(s), juice
  • e.g. garlic powder
  • n. B. onion powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 2 hours 20 minutes

Cut or grate the carrots and apples into julienne strips and scatter the sesame seeds over the salad. Mix the dressing with the remaining ingredients and spread over the salad. Mix everything well and let it sit for about 2 hours, or longer if you like. It’s advisable to stir it occasionally while it sits. My experience with the chili is that it’s not that intense at first. The spiciness only develops as it sits.
