Ingredients for 5 servings:
- 5 pork schnitzels, or turkey meat, cut into strips
- 5 slice(s) ham, cooked, roughly diced
- 150 g bacon, diced
- 3 shallots, or alternatively 1 large onion, diced
- 1 garlic clove(s), pressed, or 2 to taste
- 2 small cans of mushrooms
- 1 cup of cream
- 1 cup sour cream or crème fraîche
- 1 pack of cream cheese
- 1 pack of cream cheese with herbs
- 1 pack of frozen herbs (Herbs de Provence)
- salt and pepper
- oil
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
Season the meat and brown it in a little oil, then place it in an ovenproof dish. Brown the bacon and onion cubes. Add the cream and sour cream and heat, stir in the cream cheese and melt it. Add the herbs, mushrooms, garlic and cooked ham and season everything with salt and pepper. Pour the sauce over the meat. Leave to marinate, ideally overnight. Place in the oven at 180°C for about 70 minutes. You can shorten the cooking time somewhat by switching on the microwave. Serve with white bread and salad (bean salad goes very well, for example). In larger quantities, it is ideal for guests, also because it is easy to prepare. Tip: for a lower-fat version you can of course replace all dairy products with Cremefine or Balance cream cheese.
