Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 400 g prawn(s), peeled and deveined
  • 1 tsp, heaped black pepper, crushed
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • ½ tsp chili flakes
  • ½ tsp chili powder
  • Salt
  • 2 tbsp peanut oil
  • 50 g butter
  • 2 cm cinnamon stick(s), crushed
  • 2 cloves, crushed
  • 200 g leek, white part, diagonally sliced ​​into 1 cm slices
  • 2 medium-sized onions, red, quartered
  • 200 g bell pepper(s), green, cut into wedges
  • 200 g tomatoes, quartered
  • 2 cm ginger root, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 150 ml tomato sauce

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Rest time approx. 40 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

In a bowl, mix the shrimp with pepper, chili flakes, chili powder, turmeric, and salt and let stand for 30-40 minutes. Then, stir-fry in a little oil. Remove from the pan and set aside. Heat the oil and butter in a deeper saucepan. Sauté the cinnamon, cloves, garlic, and ginger. Add the leek, bell pepper, shrimp, and onion. Stir thoroughly. Stir in the chili flakes and tomato sauce. Season with salt and pepper. After about 10 minutes, add the tomatoes and simmer for another 2 minutes.
