Plantains (cooking bananas) in peanut paste

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 2 banana(s) (plantains, plantains)
  • ½ onion(s), according to taste
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • ½ tsp chili pepper(s), fresh, chopped
  • pepper
  • 1 tbsp, spread peanut butter (peanut paste)
  • oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Delicious idea, originated in West Africa

Roughly chop the onion, chop or crush the garlic, depending on your taste. Sauté both together with the chili in a pan with a little oil. Then peel the plantains, cut them into pieces, and add them to the pan. Fry over medium heat. Add pepper, and finally add the peanut paste to the pan and let it melt a little (I don’t mean the usual “peanut butter,” but real peanut paste). Be careful, because it burns easily! When the paste is liquid, the meal is ready! White African bread actually goes best with this. I think you could use ciabatta or a simple baguette as a substitute. If you like, you can also add rice or another side dish.
