Red wine onions with beef

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 650 g shallot(s)
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 300 g raisins
  • ½ kg beef, cut into cubes
  • 70 g tomato paste
  • ½ lemon(s), the juice
  • pepper
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • Sugar
  • 1 bunch of fresh herbs: parsley, rosemary, tarragon
  • 1 bottle of red wine, dry
  • some olive oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

for parties and celebrations – is well prepared.

Preheat the oven to 200°C. Peel the shallots and garlic clove. Combine all ingredients in a heavy cast-iron pot and mix. Pour in enough wine to cover. Cook in the oven for about 2 hours, adding more wine if necessary. If the shallots start to get too brown, cover. Season with salt, pepper, sugar, and lemon juice. Serve with fresh baguette.
